Is it permissible to deal with a person who claims to be able to obtain a lump-sum financial aid from social security, in exchange for receiving a portion of the disbursed amount?
If there is no deception or fraud involved, there is no objection to what the intermediary requests for himself or his companion as compensation for his efforts and completing the transaction. However, if it involves cheating, fraud, or bribery of an employee, then it is not permissible, because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) cursed the briber and the bribed," and Allah Almighty said: "Listeners to falsehood, devourers of illicit gain," and "And do not consume one another's wealth unjustly or send it [in bribery] to the rulers in order that you may knowingly consume a portion of the people's wealth unlawfully."
