What is the ruling on staying away from one's mother or not speaking to her to avoid problems, if she causes problems with everyone around her, and it sometimes reaches the point of raising one's voice at her?

A mother holds a great status and has an undeniable right, and it is not permissible to mistreat her or fall short in honoring her, even if she is a polytheist or commands polytheism. Therefore, seek Allah's help and strive to honor your mother, treat her kindly, and pray for her, and avoid feelings of hatred towards her. Do not raise your voice at her or get angry when speaking to her, as this is disobedience, and abandoning her is not permissible. If you are compelled to distance yourself from her by sitting in another room occasionally, there is no sin if you are not harmed by it. Your fulfilling what is due to her removes the sin of hating her. Remember that responding to evil with good brings affection and repels the whispers of Satan, as Allah Almighty said: "And not equal are the good deed and the bad. Repel [evil] with that which is better, and thereupon the one whom between you and him is enmity [will become] as though he was a devoted friend." This applies even more to parents.
