What is the ruling on using "al-Nafha" during the daytime in Ramadan?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

If "al-nafkhah" refers to smoke or an inhaled narcotic known as "al-shammah," then its use is absolutely forbidden, whether during Ramadan or outside of it. If a fasting person uses it, their fast is invalidated and they must make up for it. The Permanent Committee has issued a fatwa stating that "al-shammah" is a noxious substance and its use by a fasting person invalidates their fast.
