Is it permissible to claim to convert to Christianity in order to obtain essential employment in Europe?

It is not permissible to utter disbelief (kufr) except in cases of dire necessity, such as certain death. Whoever utters a word of disbelief willingly has disbelieved thereby. It is not permissible to accept an offer that leads to uttering disbelief or even contemplating it, because the pleasure of Allah is paramount. A Muslim must be like Ka'b ibn Malik, who rejected the offer of the King of Ghassan, which contained a hint of disbelief, because Allah has guaranteed provision for whoever fears Him. Apostasy from Islam is one of the greatest sins and entails the nullification of good deeds and eternal damnation in Hellfire. Therefore, a Muslim must fear Allah and turn to Him.
