Is the hadith: "My servant, have you not been fair to Me?" authentic?

The phrase "O son of Adam, you have not been fair to Me" or similar expressions have been reported in several traditions (athar), some of which are from the Isra'iliyyat (reports from Jewish and Christian sources). It was narrated from Sahl bin Abdullah that Allah calls out: "My servant, you have not been fair to Me. I remember you, but you forget Me. I call you to Me, but you go away from Me to others. I remove afflictions from you, while you persist in sins. O son of Adam, what will be your excuse tomorrow when you come to Me?" It was also narrated from the Prophet, peace be upon him, that Allah says: "O son of Adam, you have not been fair to Me. I endear Myself to you with blessings, but you earn My displeasure with sins. My good descends to you, and your evil ascends to Me. How many a noble angel ascends to Me from you with an ugly deed?" These traditions do not meet the conditions for authenticity, but their meaning is sound.
