What is your advice to a young man who was ambitious but became addicted to drugs and then to medication, lost everything he owned, and now suffers from psychological and social problems that prevent him from living a normal life?

The path to guidance and repentance is known. The sinner must hasten to sincere repentance before Allah Almighty and weep before Him, for Allah accepts the repentance of those who repent, no matter how great their sins, as in the story of the murderer of one hundred souls. Repentance must be accompanied by a firm resolve not to return to disobedience and to stay away from bad company and anything that reminds one of sin. Drugs are the mother of all evils that destroy wealth, self, and relationships, so they must be treated, and one must endure with patience the bitterness of quitting addiction.
