Why did the tribes of Aws and Khazraj embrace Islam?
The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, presented Islam to tribes and individuals outside Mecca after its people rejected it, especially after the death of his uncle and wife. He utilized religious occasions and markets to invite tribes to Islam and to protect his family. During the Hajj season of the eleventh year of prophethood, he met six people from Yathrib, and they embraced Islam. This marked the beginning of Islam among the people of Yathrib. Ibn al-Qayyim mentioned that the Aws and Khazraj had heard from the Jews about a prophet who would be sent. When they saw the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, they said: "By God, this is the Prophet about whom the Jews warned you, so do not let them precede you to him." So they hastened to respond to him.
