What is the ruling on a father going to the mosque to perform Friday Prayer despite severe back pain and his children's attempts to prevent him out of concern for him?

If the question is about the ruling on a sick person going to the mosque, then a sick person is excused from attending Friday prayer and congregational prayers. However, if the question is about his insistence on going despite his illness, there is no harm in it. The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) were keen to attend prayers in the mosque even when they were sick, as Muslim narrated from Ibn Mas'ud: "Indeed, I have seen us, and no one would stay behind from prayer except a hypocrite whose hypocrisy was known, or a sick person. Verily, the sick person would walk between two men until he came to prayer."
