Is the story narrated about Abu Yazid al-Bistami and his patience with his wife, and his receiving a miracle because of it, authentic?

We have not come across anything that proves the authenticity of the aforementioned story about Abu Yazid. What is known about him is that he was famous for asceticism and keenness on obedience and adherence [to the Sunnah]. It was narrated from him that he said: "If you see a man who has been given so many miracles that he rises into the air, do not be deceived by him until you see how he adheres to commands and prohibitions and safeguards the limits of Sharia." Al-Dhahabi and Ibn Hajar mentioned that certain things were held against him and their authenticity attributed to him was doubted.
