What is the authenticity of the story of Asma bint Yazid, who questioned the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, about the status of women in the presence of a gathering of the Companions?

Ibn Abi Dunya and Ibn Bishran narrate a hadith from Jabir ibn Abdullah that a woman asked the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, about the reward of women compared to the jihad of men, and he informed her that obedience to her husband is equivalent to that. The chain of narration (isnad) of this hadith is good (jayyid).

Al-Bazzar also narrated a similar hadith from Ibn Abbas, but its chain of narration is weak (da'if). Another supporting narration (shahid) for it is found in Al-Bayhaqi and Ibn Asakir from Asma bint Yazid, and its chain of narration is soft/lenient (layyin).

Al-Albani weakened this hadith, but he did not address the good chain of narration from Ibn Abi Dunya. The summary of the matter is that the isnad of Jabir's hadith is good (hasan), and the hadith has weak supporting narrations. The weakness of the hadith was clarified in a previous answer.
