What is the wisdom behind the presence of the Noble Scribes (Kiraman Katibin) despite God's knowledge of all things?
The eminent scholar Ibn Uthaymeen, may Allah have mercy on him, was asked about the wisdom behind appointing noble scribes to record our deeds. He replied that the wisdom may be understood, or it may not. Many universal and legislative matters have a wisdom that remains hidden from us, as in the words of Allah the Almighty: (And they ask you, [O Muhammad], about the soul. Say, "The soul is of the affair of my Lord. And you have not been given of knowledge except a little.") He added that the wisdom behind appointing the noble scribes is to demonstrate that Allah the Almighty has organized and perfected things with precise mastery, and He has appointed noble scribes over the deeds and sayings of the children of Adam, who record what they do. This indicates Allah's perfect care and preservation for humanity, and that this universe is organized and perfected with the best system.
