Is it permissible for a man residing in a Western country to earn his living by styling the hair of non-Muslim women, and is the money earned from this forbidden (haram), and if so, must he dispose of it?

A Muslim man is not permitted to work as a hairdresser for women, as it involves forbidden mixing and seclusion (khalwa), and touching non-mahram women. Allah has commanded lowering the gaze, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade touching non-mahram women. Whoever has engaged in such work must repent immediately and purify his earnings from it by spending them on charitable causes.
