Is money earned from shops that sell hair and makeup products and offer beautification services for women, in a country where a wife does not deceive her husband regarding her appearance, considered lawful (halal) or unlawful (haram)?

Scholars have differed concerning the ruling on wearing a wig (peruke), and selling them is contingent upon this ruling:

- If it is deemed impermissible, then selling them is not allowed. - If it is deemed permissible, then the default is that selling them is permissible, like other permissible adornments, unless the seller knows that the buyer will use it for something unlawful, in which case it is not permissible. And since it is common for women to use them for ostentatious display (tabarruj) before non-mahram men, then selling them is not permissible.
