A woman's assistance to her fiancé in completing their marriage is commendable in Islamic law. It is considered one of the greatest expenditures of wealth and one of the greatest acts of obedience because a believing wife who helps her husband in his faith is considered among the best possessions a Muslim can have. Marriage helps a man in obedience and deters him from forbidden acts. However, the man's seriousness about marriage must be considered, and he should not rely entirely on his fiancée's help. The assistance should be limited to what he is genuinely unable to provide, with the caveat that the fiancé is a stranger to his fiancée until the marriage contract is concluded.
