Is marrying an older woman not forbidden or reprehensible, and can one marry her despite a feeling of apprehension in the husband's heart concerning the future of this marriage?
One must be keen to marry a righteous, religious woman, in compliance with the Prophet's (peace be upon him) recommendation: "A woman is married for four reasons: for her wealth, for her lineage, for her beauty, and for her religion. So choose the religious woman." If the woman is religious, the age difference does not significantly matter, as long as both parties know their rights and obligations. However, if the age difference causes unease, one should not proceed with the marriage due to the harm it could cause both parties. A Muslim must entrust their affairs to Allah, trust in Him, and not undertake any matter until they have prayed Salatul-Istikhara.
