What is the ruling of Islamic law on not completing the payment for a car to the seller due to the discovery of undisclosed defects in it?

If defects ordinarily lead to a reduction in price, and it can be proven that they did not occur while the property was in the buyer's possession, then the buyer has the option to annul the sale or to take compensation for the defect (arsh al-ayb). The buyer is obligated to pay the remaining portion of the price, and both the buyer and the seller must refer their dispute to a Sharia judge or an arbitrating expert for a decision.
