What occurred in terms of assault and attempted rape is a grave sin and manifest aggression. However, as long as the matter did not reach the level of [actual] fornication (zina) or the destruction of a limb, there is no prescribed corporal punishment (hadd) for it. Instead, it entails discretionary punishment (ta'zir), and all of this is for the ruler [to decide], not for individuals.
