Is it permissible for a student of knowledge to continue studying with scholars who revile some of the Companions, or to correspond with individuals who send Imamiyyah books containing exaggeration regarding the Household of the Prophet? And what is the solution for correcting Quran recitation in the absence of a Hafiz or a skilled scholar in the region?

You must study under scholars known for their knowledge and soundness of belief, and keep away from innovators and those who oppose the Sunnis, such as the Shiites and Imamites. Do not study under them, do not sit with them, do not correspond with them, and do not look into their books, lest they lead you astray. Study the Quran with a reciter who excels in recitation and has sound belief. There is no harm in listening to recorded Quranic tapes for benefit.
