The Sharia has made obedience to parents obligatory and considered it among the best deeds, while prohibiting their disobedience and classifying it among the gravest sins. It has also made it incumbent upon the child to financially support them if they are poor, not if they are wealthy. Giving them money to please them is recommended. The hadith "You and your wealth belong to your father" means permissibility of taking, not ownership. Reconciliation with the father is advisable in matters that do not involve sin or harm. There is no obligation to return home if problems are certain, and it is not permissible to cut ties with the father, even if he cuts ties with you.
