The answer

The question of whether Allah lacks the attributes of hearing and sight is only raised by someone whose heart has been tainted by the شبهة التشبيه (fallacy of anthropomorphism). The People of affirm Allah's attributes as He has affirmed them for Himself, without [attempting to understand their] "how" (takyif) or "likeness" (tamthil), and they entrust the knowledge of their "how" to Allah Almighty. Negating likeness and entrusting the knowledge of "how" prevents such a problem. For Allah Almighty's knowledge is not like our knowledge, and His hearing and sight are not like our hearing and sight. He knows everything before there was anything to be seen or heard.
