Is it permissible to write names at the beginning or end of Mus'hafs?

The writing of names in Qur'ans varies depending on the intention. If the intention is to identify the copy, then it is permissible, and it has been found in manuscript Qur'ans without objection. However, if the intention is ostentation or seeking people's praise, then it is not permissible, because it is a means to something forbidden. As for one who writes his name seeking prayers from the readers, there is no objection to that as long as his intention is sound, but it is better to avoid it for fear of falling into ostentation.
