What is the ruling on seeking forgiveness exactly 70 times, without increase or decrease?

Seeking forgiveness (Istighfar) is not limited to a specific number. There are Hadiths that mention seeking forgiveness seventy times or more, such as the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "By Allah, I seek Allah’s forgiveness and repent to Him more than seventy times a day." There are also Hadiths that indicate the permissibility of seeking forgiveness absolutely without restriction to a number, such as the saying: "I seek forgiveness from Allah, the Magnificent, whom there is no god but He, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer, and I repent to Him."
