Is it permissible to listen to the recitation of another imam, who is not my imam, if the mosques are close to each other?
It is not permissible to listen to him during prayer. An individual praying alone should occupy himself with recitation and remembrance (dhikr), and a congregant (ma'mum) should listen attentively to the imam during audible recitations and ponder what he recites silently.
