What is the ruling on a wife continuing to live with a husband who does not pray, abuses drugs, is in debt, and lies, knowing that she hates him and curses him, but is holding onto him because of her children, and her father refuses to take her in with her children?

If the husband abandons prayer and is addicted to drugs, it is recommended for the wife to seek divorce from him, especially if he neglects one of the rights owed to Allah. However, if his abandonment of prayer is due to denial of its obligatory nature, then he is an infidel (kafir) and it is not permissible for her to remain with him. If the husband refrains from providing essential maintenance, she may refer his case to the judge. The wife has custody of the children unless there is a valid impediment, and her father has no right to prevent her from custody. The wife is advised to exert effort in reforming her husband and assisting him in repentance and rectitude.
