What is the ruling on speaking with a married woman and seeing her online, knowing that the relationship has been severed?
Social interaction between a young man and a non- woman without observing the Shariah conditions is a dangerous gateway to evils and corruption, especially if one or both of them are married, as it involves marital betrayal and the destruction of the family. The conditions for communication between genders include: ensuring safety from temptation (fitna), necessity for communication, avoiding unlawful looking, and not speaking in a soft or alluring manner. It is obligatory for anyone afflicted with such relationships to cut off communication and offer sincere repentance. They should also conceal their own sin and that of the woman, based on the Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him) saying: "Avoid these abominations that Allah has forbidden. Whoever commits any of them should conceal himself with Allah's concealment and repent to Allah. For whoever reveals his sin to us, we will apply Allah's Book to him."
