It is advised not to rush into divorcing her and to strive for reconciliation first, by clarifying the husband's rights and the obligation to obey him, and that she must reside with her husband wherever he resides, as long as he provides her with an independent dwelling. If she does not return, then sensible people should mediate for reconciliation or agree upon a divorce. The wife's maintenance is obligatory during the 'iddah (waiting period), and the daughter's maintenance is obligatory until she becomes self-sufficient.
