Is a husband obligated to endure his wife's bad manners and her shortcomings in fulfilling his rights, and is he obligated to return to his country after divorcing her to be close to his children?

If a wife's conduct towards her husband becomes bad, he is not obligated to endure it, and he is permitted to divorce her. This is because divorce is permissible when there is a need for it due to the wife's bad character and the harm she inflicts upon the husband. However, if the wife is divorced and returns with her children to her country, you are not obligated to return to that country to be close to the children. The majority of jurists hold that custody belongs to the father if the parents are in distant countries.

Nevertheless, the questioner is advised to retain his wife and treat her kindly, and to look at the good aspects of her character, in accordance with the Almighty's saying: "And live with them in kindness. For if you dislike them - perhaps you dislike a thing and Allah makes therein much good" [Quran 4:19], and the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "No believing man should hate a believing woman; if he dislikes one of her characteristics, he will be pleased with another."
