Is a divorced woman considered sinful if she does not live with her troublesome mother who likes to stir up problems, especially since she is religious and suffers from a disease that prevents her from tolerating problems?

A person should strive for their parents' pleasure and respond to their permissible demands, for Allah has commanded obedience and kindness towards them and has linked His pleasure to theirs. This is further emphasized when they are old and weak. If the mother does not need the service and there are other siblings (brothers and sisters) who can perform it, and if the daughter's living with her entails great hardship, then there is no sin in not obeying her in this matter. She should, however, honor her and maintain ties by visiting her, while gently trying to convince her.
