Is there a specific age for the marriage of a man and a woman in Islam based on the Quran and authentic Prophetic traditions?

The Sharia does not specify a particular age for marriage. The father is the legal guardian who marries off his young daughter based on what he deems to be in her best interest, provided that cohabitation does not occur until she is able to endure intercourse.
