Is it permissible to trim the beard and remove the niqab at the airport to avoid problems, or is it obligatory to put one's trust in Allah and travel, and is that considered casting oneself into destruction?

It is permissible to trim the beard and to remove the niqab out of necessity and to avert hardship if there is a strong presumption that distress will occur because of them, provided that covering remains obligatory in places where there is no hardship. One should adopt the easier opinion to avert hardship. It is also a sign of wisdom to avoid causes of affliction, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "It is not fitting for a believer to humiliate himself."
