Is it permissible to regularly allow children to play in the mosque, and is that considered a sin?

Mosques are the houses of Allah built for His remembrance and worship, and it is legislated to purify and clean them. It is not prohibited to gather, engage in permissible conversation, eat, drink, and relax in them outside of prayer times, especially during Eid, provided that this does not become a habit that diverts the mosque from its intended purpose. However, regularly and permanently transforming mosques into playgrounds for children outside of prayer times is a clear reprehensible act, as it causes inconvenience to worshippers, incapacitates the mosque, exposes it to pollution and damage to its contents, and harms Qur'ans and religious books.
