Does divorce occur with the statement "You are ṭāniq" over the phone, knowing that the wife requested divorce and consummation has not yet occurred, and that the husband intentionally altered the word to test her seriousness?

Issues of divorce are serious and should not be trifled with. The word "طالق" (tāliq - divorced) is not an implicit expression of divorce, so nothing takes effect by it. One must be cautious about this. The fact that the divorce occurs over the phone does not affect its validity. Divorcing a woman before consummation is an irrevocable divorce; she is not lawful for him again except with a new marriage contract. We advise good companionship, avoiding anger, and cooperating in obedience to Allah.
