The answer

The status of knowledge in Islam is great, and establishing educational circles in the mosque or home is among the best acts of drawing closer to Allah. This falls under the circles of remembrance (dhikr) that the texts have encouraged. In the hadith: "No people gather in one of the houses of Allah, reciting the Book of Allah and studying it among themselves, except that tranquility descends upon them, mercy envelops them, angels surround them, and Allah mentions them to those with Him." Attending these circles may become obligatory if a Muslim needs to learn what is obligatory for him concerning his religion and finds no other means.
