Does the deceased's standing in the afterlife depend on issues of debts related to his sisters and the expenses of his land case being heard in the courts, or not?
If your father borrowed money from his sisters to finalize transactions related to his land, then this is a debt for which he is liable and which must be paid from his estate before its distribution. There is no need to wait for a judgment regarding the land, as a debt becomes due upon death. The Quran stipulates that the distribution of an inheritance does not occur except after the settlement of debts and the execution of bequests, and the Sunnah clarified that debt takes precedence over bequests. If the deceased did not leave enough to cover his debt, then whoever volunteers from his relatives or others to pay it on his behalf will suffice him. The soul of a believer is held hostage by his debt until it is paid off. If the debtor was sincere in his intention to repay but was unable to do so, it is hoped that Allah will settle his debt for him on the Day of Resurrection. As for him who takes people's money intending to destroy it, Allah will destroy him; and whoever takes it intending to repay it, Allah will repay it on his behalf.
