Does sorcery have an effect on stopping or delaying sustenance?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

A servant must be certain that his sustenance is in the hand of his Creator; no one can withhold it or grant it except by Allah's permission. The notion that someone can cut off or delay another's sustenance is a corrupt notion that must be corrected. It is not enough merely to state that Allah is the Provider; rather, there must be complete certainty that the sustenance of every creature is incumbent upon Allah, as He—the Almighty—said: "And there is no creature on earth but that upon Allah is its provision." It has been authentically narrated from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that a soul will not die until it completes its term and receives all its sustenance. So, let them fear Allah and be moderate in seeking it.
