Did the Prophet (peace be upon him) speak about Antarah ibn Shaddad, and did Antarah live during the time of the prophethood?

There is no authentic prophetic tradition from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, mentioning Antarah ibn Shaddad al-Absi. However, reports of his bravery are numerous and he has become a proverbial example. It is said that he died approximately seven years before the Hijra.
