What is the ruling on one who deliberately denies an ayah from the Noble Qur’an or a Prophetic hadith, and what is the ruling on one who deliberately misinterprets them?

Denying a verse from the Qur’an is an act of disbelief (kufr). However, if the denier is ignorant, they are not considered a disbeliever until proof (hujjah) is established against them. Similarly, denying a continuously transmitted (mutawatir) Sunnah is an act of disbelief, unlike denying Ahad (solitary) narrations, which is an innovation (bid‘ah) and misguidance. An error in interpreting verses of the Qur’an or some hadiths becomes an act of disbelief if it entails denying Allah and His Messenger, and rejecting what is known to be an essential part of the religion. Otherwise, it is an innovation. One who differs in interpretation is not considered a disbeliever unless their interpretation constitutes a denial.
