The punishment for sodomy is death by stoning, based on the saying of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him: "Whoever you find doing the act of the people of Lot, kill the one who does it and the one to whom it is done." This punishment is considered one of the rulings of the Qur'an, because what the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade is as if Allah Himself forbade it.
