A Muslim woman is not obligated to wear black, nor is it permissible to compel her to do so, let alone beat her for refusing to wear it. The customs of the country regarding dress should be observed if they do not contradict Islamic law. It is not permissible to curse one's parents, even if they are unjust; rather, one should supplicate for them. As for other relatives, it is permissible to curse the one who is unjust among them, though forgiveness is better.
