What is the ruling on the art of "origami" (folding and shaping paper to create animate or inanimate forms) in Islam?

There is no harm in shaping paper to make beautiful, permissible things, provided they are not forbidden, such as a cigarette or a wine bottle, or places of innovation and temples of disbelievers, or shapes of animate beings (with the exception of dolls for girls). If it is free from these prohibitions, then there is no objection to shaping it for the home or for sale, and there is no difference between shaping with paper or clay.
