The answer

One should not say, "Prayers and peace be upon Allah Almighty," because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade it, saying: "Indeed, Allah is As-Salam (the Peace)." He guided us to say: "All compliments, prayers and good things are due to Allah..." For Allah Almighty is As-Salam, and He is free of any need for that. He is the one who sends prayers upon His servants and His angels, and people are the ones in need of safety. A Muslim must refrain from what the Prophet forbade and increase in the remembrance of Allah, sending prayers and peace upon the Prophet, and supplicating for the believers.
