The fundamental principle in seeking marriage is for a man to prepare himself financially. Then, one of his mahrams (unmarriageable kin) should search for a woman of good character and religious devotion. After that, he should look at her, propose to her, and then formalize the marriage contract. As for websites that provide this service, there is no harm in paying money for a known service benefit.
