There are five methods for Hadith تخريج (referencing/sourcing): 1. By the first word of the Hadith text (matn): By searching in comprehensive collections like Al-Suyuti's "Al-Jami' al-Kabir wa al-Saghir," and books of Hadith commonly cited, such as Al-Sakhawi's "Al-Maqasid al-Hasana," and scholarly keys and indexes for books of Sunnah, like "Mawsu'at Atraf al-Hadith al-Nabawi." 2. By knowing the highest narrator of the Hadith: By searching in original sources like the Musnads and Mu'jams, and secondary sources like books of Atraf (narrative fragments) such as Al-Mizzi's "Tuhfat al-Ashraf," and comprehensive collections like Al-Bukhari's "Al-Jami' al-Sahih." 3. By examining the text (matn): Using books such as "Al-Mu'jam al-Mufahras li Alfaz al-Hadith al-Nabawi" and "Miftah Kunuz al-Sunnah." 4. By reviewing and meticulously going through books of Sunnah: By reading the entire book to extract the Hadith, which was the method of the early Huffaz (memorizers) and scholars. 5. By computer: Using specialized software for the Prophetic Sunnah, such as Al-Maktabah Al-Shamila.

The easiest method is the fifth. For beginners and non-specialists, it is recommended to search in "Tuhfat al-Ashraf," "Ithaf al-Mahara," and "Jami' al-Masaneed."
