Does the supplication for expiation of the مجلس (gathering) atone for all verbal and actual sins, such as for someone who watches TV series and then recites the supplication?

The Hadith: "Whoever sits in a gathering in which there is much idle talk, and before he rises from that gathering says: 'Subhanaka Allahumma wa bihamdika, ashhadu an la ilaha illa Anta, astaghfiruka wa atubu ilayk (Glory be to You, O Allah, and with Your praise, I bear witness that there is no god but You, I seek Your forgiveness and I repent to You),' he will be forgiven for whatever occurred in that gathering," includes forgiveness for idle talk and unlawful actions if the the person acknowledges them. The vastness of Allah's mercy indicates this, but it should not be an excuse to commit evil deeds. Indeed, persistence in minor sins transforms them into major sins. Moreover, one must avoid watching TV series that contain unlawful content.
