What is the authenticity and interpretation of the Hadith: "Behold, the mill of Islam is turning, so turn with the Book wherever it turns. Behold, the Book of Allah and the Sultan will differ, so do not abandon the Book. Behold, there will be rulers over you who will approve for themselves what they do not approve for you. If you obey them, they will lead you astray, and if you disobey them, they will kill you"?

The aforementioned hadith has a weak chain of narration (isnaad) due to discontinuity, as Yazid ibn Marthad did not hear from Mu'adh ibn Jabal. Although there is disagreement regarding the trustworthiness of Al-Wadeen ibn Ata', and Suwayd ibn Abd al-Aziz is weak, the overall meanings of the hadith are sound and consistent with other legal texts. It calls for adherence to the Book, rejection of bribery, and warns against rulers who judge in their own favor and are unjust. It also emphasizes the necessity of upholding the truth, even if it leads to death in obedience to Allah, as mentioned in the hadith of Umm Salamah.
