Is a husband required to send money to his wife and child if she became angry and went to her family's home and has not returned for over a week, even though she has not asked for money?

The maintenance (nafaqa) for a disobedient (nashiz) wife who is not pregnant is forfeited. However, the maintenance for a young child is obligatory and is not forfeited by the mother's disobedience. This is based on what is stated in Ibn Qudamah's Al-Mughni, that the child's maintenance is a right due to the child, and his right is not forfeited by his mother's disobedience. The husband must give it to her if she is the custodian or wet-nurse for the child, as well as the wet-nursing fee. The husband should discuss with his disobedient wife to make clear the obligation of her obedience to him in what is good, and that she should not leave the house without his permission except out of necessity, and that she should repent and return to her home.
