Is it permissible to shave leg hair?

The jurists have unanimously agreed on the permissibility for a woman to remove hair from her legs. Some of them even went so far as to say it is obligatory, as leaving it constitutes disfigurement. As for a man, the Malikis hold that it is permissible for him to do so, and there is no religious impediment to it, as it does not involve altering Allah's creation.
