When speaking about people, one must be knowledgeable and just. Sheikh Abdul Qadir Al-Jilani was one of the imams of Islam, both in knowledge and practice. He followed the methodology of the righteous predecessors and concurred with the Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah in matters of Aqeedah (creed). Some errors occurred in his writings, which are overshadowed by his vast virtues. What Al-Jilani or other imams said must be presented to the Qur’an and Sunnah. The Qadiriyya Tariqa today is deviant and excessive in its veneration of the Sheikh, contrary to what the Sheikh himself, may Allah have mercy on him, believed. Sheikh Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab called for devoting religion sincerely to Allah and forbade Shirk (polytheism). He endured hardships to restore Islam to its pure form. An objective person can refer to his books, such as "Kitab At-Tawhid" (The Book of Monotheism), to learn about his call and the extent of the fabrications made against him. One must ponder over the Qur’an and Sunnah and consult trustworthy scholars.
