Is it permissible for a father to demand that his son pay for an apartment the father owns, and is it permissible for the son to refuse payment and decline to vacate it, and in this case, does the father have a right to obedience and dutifulness from his son?

A father is not obligated to gift an apartment to his son for free, and his demand for its price is not considered an injustice. Filial piety is obligatory even if parents commit injustice, as Allah the Almighty says: "And accompany them in the world with beneficence," and as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The parent is the best of the gates of Paradise." The pleasure of the Lord lies in the pleasure of the parent, and His displeasure lies in their displeasure.
