Can a man take his wife back after divorcing her by telling her father, "I do not want her as a wife, and she is divorced"?

If a man utters the divorce (talaq) while he is aware, his divorce is effective. And if he has not divorced her more than once previously, then his divorce is revocable (raj'i), and he has the right to take his wife back during her waiting period ('iddah), and there is no expiation (kaffarah) upon him.
